Should HB Council defend the 3689 Conversion Ordinance that protect seniors or bow to greedy owners demands?
The 3689 Huntington Beach Conversion Ordinance passed in 2004 protects mobilehome owners from eviction without compensation. Greedy Park owners want it rescinded and take the mobile homes from their legal owners, mostly seniors who bought the mobile homes with their live savings. Most of the mobilehomes are 20 to 30 years old or more and can't be moved. Seniors will be rendered homeless. Should the City Council defend the Ordinance and not try to modify it to park owners' demands?
